Biography
David V. Yonick, M.D., is a member of the medical staff at MidMichigan Medical Center - Midland. He specializes in surgical and nonsurgical procedures to restore or enhance his patient’s appearances and function.
Dr. Yonick became interested to plastic surgery during the third year of his general surgery residency while working at the burn unit at Loyola University Medical Center. “I was able to work hand and hand with the plastic surgeons as they restored not only form but function to severely burned patients” he said.
He is board certified from the American Board of Plastic Surgery and American Board of Surgery and completed a research fellowship at Loyola Medical Center’s Burn, Shock and Trauma Institute.
Philosophy of Care
“My philosophy is to provide my patients with safe, ethical and effective care,” said Dr. Yonick. “For me, it is about taking the time to understand my patient’s expectations and match a plan with those expectations. I want my patients to feel well informed about their options and ultimate choice in their care.”
Dr. Yonick says seeing his patient feel “whole” again is the most satisfying aspect of his work. He has a very open and honest approach to his patient’s care.
Special Interests and Procedures
As a plastic surgeon, Dr. Yonick specializes in breast reconstruction, complex soft tissue reconstruction, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), breast augmentation, facelift, liposuction and mommy makeover surgeries. He also has many nonsurgical procedures to enhance and the restore the face, body and skin.
He has a special interest in microvascular surgery within the field of plastic surgery.
Dr. Yonick is an avid golfer and likes to build and launch model rockets. He and his wife Karen have four children.
