Biography
Jennifer Schlitzkus, P.A.-C. is a board-certified physician assistant specializing in family medicine. She sees patients of all ages at MidMichigan Health Park – Harrison.
Philosophy of Care
“My philosophy is to remain approachable and trustworthy. I will maintain an open and caring relationship with all my patients and be honest and compassionate. I want my patients to feel like they can share anything with me.”
“Hippocrates said ‘Cure sometimes, treat often, comfort always,’ and I agree with that approach. Medicine is constantly changing and advancing. Our imaging techniques, treatment options and research have made leaps and bounds and will continue to shape the way we practice medicine. However, listening and providing comfort and compassion are still the foundation of good medicine.”
“Family medicine allows me to care for many different individuals across their lifetime, including patients who are young and old, when they are healthy and when they are sick, whether they need preventive care or help managing chronic conditions.”
“The most satisfying thing for me is seeing people who are motivated to improve their health. I can be a resource, a source of knowledge and motivation for my patients, but their health ultimately depends on their own decisions. When someone takes an interest and wants to improve their health, it is the most rewarding part of my job.”
Jennifer enjoys being outdoors and by the water. Her pastimes include running, reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
“I grew up in Gladwin, so the ability to practice medicine near my hometown is a wonderful opportunity. I am familiar with the area and the people and am very excited to be able to give back to the community and to help care for our citizens.”
