Nicole Schelb, A.P.R.N., F.N.P.-C., M.S.N., is a certified nurse practitioner with MidMichigan’s Spine and Pain Program. As part of this comprehensive program, Nicole works collaboratively with other members of this specialized team to provide balanced pain management care to diagnose and treat conditions such as neck and back pain, including work-related injuries and sciatica; persistent pain after back or neck surgery; arthritis pain in spine and joints; Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS); nerve damage; muscle spasm pain; shingles pain and headaches.
“I decided as a child that I wanted to go into medicine because I wanted to help people,” said Nicole. “I chose to specialize in pain medicine because after 20 years in the Critical Care Unit and Emergency Department, I witnessed many patients who had not had their pain properly managed. I believe that there is help available to better manage patients’ pain so they can live a more fulfilling life.”
Philosophy of Care
Nicole’s personal philosophy of care is to provide the highest quality of care to her patients by acknowledging each patient’s individuality, while providing unconditional compassionate care. “I work hard to educate my patients and strive to create a trusting relationship with them.”
According to Nicole, the most satisfying aspect of her job is building strong, trusting relationships with her patients so that she can better manage their goals.
