"I remember that each patient is an individual, a member of a family and a member of a larger community."
Kristin Raleigh, D.P.M., was first introduced to the field of podiatry by her colleague, Podiatrist David Snider, D.P.M., when she began looking into the field of medicine.
“I have to thank Dr. Snider for opening my eyes into the field,” she said. “I am so grateful that he took me under his wing when I first started looking into podiatry. He got me interested, and I wouldn’t be here without him. He encouraged me to be a sound professional. I will always be grateful to him for his support and kindness. His mentorship has been an invaluable gift over the past couple of years. One day, I hope to inspire someone else as he’s inspired me.”
Dr. Raleigh is a Midland native. Prior to returning to her hometown, she worked in Richmond, Va., in private practice.
Philosophy of Care
“My understanding of the relationship between a physician and patient is that we work together to accomplish a desired goal,” said Dr. Raleigh. “My principal role is to provide the patient with accurate information about their condition or diagnosis. That usually includes defining options of treatment that are available in managing a particular condition. I remember that each patient is an individual, a member of a family and a member of a larger community.”
The most satisfying ability of Dr. Raleigh’s work is performing interventions that allow patients to gain back their independence. She also notes that great advances had been made in wound care and limb salvage, and she looks forward to continue to treat patients in these two areas.
Dr. Raleigh enjoys golfing and spending time with her family and dog.
