Frederick Ogwara, M.D. is a pediatrician with MidMichigan Physicians Group in Midland, Michigan. He specializes in treating babies and children ages 18 and younger.
Philosophy of Care
“My philosophy is simple: Treat others as you would want to be treated. I have three young children and I want parents to feel confident that I will treat their child as well as I do my own.”
“I try to develop a very cordial relationship with parents, to always be available to them and to earn their trust. I will always put families and patients first.”
Dr. Fred grew up in a community where there was no plan for caring for sick children, and he chose pediatrics because it enables him to be an advocate for their care. “It gives me great satisfaction to watch children mature, from being small and vulnerable to growing well and hitting milestones.”
One of Dr. Fred’s professional interests is working with children with autism. “In the past if a child wasn’t fitting in, you didn’t have a clear path to figure out why. Now we have tools like MCHAT that help identify children at risk and help with intervention. Common interventions for autistic children are one of the greatest innovations in pediatrics. You find out what they are good at and make them chase it, and they come out excellent.”
Dr. Fred’s hobbies include soccer and spending time with his wife Hussaina and his three young daughters. His family has also enjoyed visiting farms in Michigan.
