Lisa Van Dorp, P.A.-C., is a certified physician assistant and a member of MidMichigan Health’s comprehensive musculoskeletal team. Lisa sees patients in the office of Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon Gregory Daut, M.D.
“I have always been fascinated with the anatomy of the human body, so I was naturally drawn to the orthopedic field during my training,” she said. “I am very passionate about patient education as well as and providing the very best care.”
Philosophy of Care
Lisa feels it is very important to develop an open and trusting relationship with her patients. “Communication is key when developing a care plan, so it’s vital to include the patient’s ideas and thoughts in the decision-making process,” she said. “This helps to achieve the very best outcome. I believe it is very important to be approachable as a provider and make patients feel as comfortable as possible.”
According to Lisa, the most satisfying aspect of her job is seeing a patient’s quality of life improve and knowing that they can now resume activities that were once limited due to their orthopedic injuries and limitations.
Special Interests and Procedures
The clinical areas that are of most interest to her are joint reconstruction and fracture management. In her free time, Lisa enjoys working out and being active. She also enjoy cooking, baking and spending time with her family and friends.
