Jakub Malarz, M.D., is a family medicine physician who is welcoming new patients of all ages to his office in Bay City.
Dr. Malarz was attracted to family medicine because he believes it’s the purest form of medicine. “Family medicine has become the initial starting point of many patients’ health care and the widest spectrum of care available, from newborns to the elderly,” he said. “It also provides the closest relationship between a physician and patient, and this is the part that has always made family medicine rewarding to me.”
Philosophy of Care
“I want to develop a relationship with patients that allow them to be a very big part of their medical care, to feel a sense of not only responsibility but also accomplishment in achieving a sense of healthy living.”
The most satisfying aspect of Dr. Malarz’s work is simply seeing patients progress in the medical care and becoming a part of the interactive patient/physician relationship. “I strive to motivate patients to achieve their goals and care for their wellbeing on a daily basis,” he said.
Dr. Malarz believes that his care, both physical and psychological, has allowed him to form strong relationships throughout his career in health care. “I try to lead by example and stay active, and use that to motivate patients to eat well and exercise.”
Special Interests and Procedures
Dr. Malarz has a special interest in skin biopsies, skin laceration repair and cryotherapy.
In his free time, Dr. Malarz enjoys mountain biking, road and gravel cycling, and has been actively racing for the past 30 years. He also likes to cross-country and downhill ski. He enjoys participating in these activities with his family.
