Matthew Kaiser, P.A.-C. is a certified physician assistant who specializes in family medicine. His practice is located at MidMichigan Medical Offices in Shepherd.
Family is Matthew’s focus both personally and professionally. “As a proud father and devoted husband, I consider myself an avid family man. Family medicine allows me the privilege of caring for patients of all ages, including multiple generations of local families within our shared community,” he said.
Philosophy of Care
“I believe in treating patients like family – treating the whole patient, not just the illness,” he said. “This means listening closely, because each patient knows their own body better than any expert.”
Matthew believes that open and honest communication builds the best relationships between providers and patients. He also believes in making excellent health fun for both patients and providers. “It’s another way to help everyone stay on target,” he said.
Matthew loves living and working in the Shepherd area, where he and his family have lived for 10 years. “After receiving world-class training at Midwestern University College of Medicine in the Chicago area, I am excited to workwith the renowned Dr. Kurt Anderson, who knows this community and his patients well.”
Matthew and his wife, Rebecca, are the parents of three young children. “They’re the best family I could ask for,” he said. This real-life experience informs his special interest of caring for pediatric patients of all ages. Another focus is treating patients who have endocrine disorders, such as diabetes. He also closely follows emerging medical understanding of the healthy bacteria that live in our gut. “This new knowledge promises much-needed help to many patients suffering from IBS and other chronic gastrointestinal diseases,” he said.
Matthew welcomes new patients to his practice. “I am dedicated to providing excellent and enjoyable medical care as I strive to make all my patients feel welcome and heard,” he said.
