Nikolaus Hurley, P.A-.C., is a physician assistant who specializes in orthopedics. He sees patients at MidMichigan Physicians Group Orthopedic Surgery where he joins Kiel Beltinck, D.O., Eric Cornish, M.D., Jeff Dombroski, M.D., and Michael Johnson, P.A.-C.
According to Nikolaus, he’s lived the process that patients are about to go through, and with that experience, he hopes to be able to belay some of the apprehension that is involved. Having had multiple orthopedics procedures himself, he has a unique empathy for orthopedic patients.
In addition, Nikolaus was attracted to the specialty of orthopedics because he wanted to be able to help others regain their mobility and function, as well as reduce pain by treating the cause.
Philosophy of Care
“My goal is to provide care which allows for the fullest possible enjoyment of an active life,” said Nikolaus. “I hope to foster trust and good communication. The people I care for are not only patients, but fellow residents that I will interact with daily in the community.”
Special Interests and Procedures
Nikolaus has a special interest in the advances in arthroscopy, which not only now provide diagnostic capabilities, but also allow for significantly reduced invasiveness, fewer complications and faster recovery.
He and his wife, Katherine, enjoy spending time with their dog, Midget, cat, Minou and Morgan horse, Hope. Nikolaus’s hobbies also include mountain biking, snow biking, skijoring, white water paddling and target shooting.
