Philosophy of Care
“I fell in love with Women’s Health during my third year of Medical school,” said Dr. Gordon. “I find the spectrum of care from birth through menopause offers great variety and maintains my passion to serve patients.”
“My philosophy of care would be described as a partnership between the patient and myself. I consider myself the guide or health coach in their journey towards wellness. I enjoy focusing on all aspects of the patient and use Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs as the starting platform for Health.
“I desire open lines of communication with all patients. I strive to be the best physician I can be for them by living the very elements of health that I ask from them.”
“The best part of my work is setting goals with the patient based on objectives that we identify during our discussions of what health is. It may be pregnancy planning, high risk pregnancy, weight loss, cardiovascular disease, mental health, or general prevention medicine; whatever it is I am committed to finding workable solutions for mutually acceptable results.”
“I am focused on patient experience and safety. I am known for being timely and keeping the team focused on the patient at all times. I am also known for my direct approach to problem solving while showing the utmost respect.”
“I think the most fascinating topic in health care is epigenetics. We now know that in utero exposures can alter gene expression and regulation that continue throughout the offspring’s lifespan. I see a future where we can help patients create a health-wealth account that will be passed down through generations.”
Dr. Gordon’s hobbies include motorcycle riding, bicycling, exercise, boating, scuba diving, reading, music, meditation, and gardening. She has five children ranging from school-aged to adulthood as well as four grandchildren. Dr. Gordon adds that she is of Scottish descent and is excited to attend the Highland Festival.
