Biography
Invasive Cardiologist Robert A. Genovese, M.D., F.A.C.C., believes that patients need not only a correct diagnosis, but also an understanding of how that diagnosis will affect the rest of their life. “Only with the patient’s understanding and cooperation can a positive impact be made in preventing future cardiac events,” Dr. Genovese said.
Philosophy of Care
Dr. Genovese’s philosophy of care is based on the belief that medical care is a partnership between the physician and the patient. “The success of this partnership requires a patient willing to actively participate in their care and treatment. In turn, the physician needs to ensure the patient understands why we recommend therapies and procedures, any potential alternatives and the consequences of noncompliance,” he said.
“The patient needs to speak up and ask questions, and the physician needs to listen and respond to patient concerns. Only through this kind of program dialog can success be achieved.”
Special Interests and Procedures
Dr. Genovese’s professional interests include noninvasive cardiac evaluation, diagnostic cardiac catheterization, implantation of permanent cardiac pacemakers and exercise stress testing. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine.
