Philosophy of Care
“While my main focus is on treating my patient’s heart condition, I never lose sight of their overall health,” Dr. Gellman said. “I believe every patient is unique and deserves a personalized approach to their heart care. By building long-term relationships with my patients, I can continually monitor their heart problems and quickly identify any changes in their condition. My ultimate goal is to return my patients to an active lifestyle and prevent further progression of their heart disease.”
Dr. Gellman enjoys spending time educating his patients so that they can make lasting lifestyle changes. “This allows them to optimize their overall health.”
Special Interests and Procedures
As an invasive cardiologist, Dr. Gellman performs a variety of tests and procedures to help pinpoint the root cause of his patients’ heart conditions. These include cardioversions, coronary arteriograms, echocardiograms, exercise stress tests, electrocardiograms and cardiac catheterizations.
Once a patient’s heart condition has been diagnosed, Dr. Gellman works closely with them to manage and treat their disease. His treatment recommendations can range from dietary changes to prescription medications to minimally invasive procedures or even open heart surgery.
In addition to spending time with his wife, Elizabeth, Dr. Gellman enjoys running, gardening, reading and following track and field sports. He and his wife have two grown children, Lucy and Benjamin.
