Biography
Janette Butler, W.H.C.N.P., C.N.M., is a women’s health certified nurse practitioner and a certified nurse midwife specializing in women’s health. She is with MidMichigan Physicians Group and has offices in Clare, Harrison and Gladwin.
“I feel strongly that my role is to educate women about their bodies,” she said. “Our goal is to ensure that our patients are comfortable asking questions and making informed decisions, so that together we can work to optimize their health.”
With more than 30 years’ experience as a registered nurse, Jan, as she is known to patients and co-workers, realized her passion to become a nurse after having her first child. “The nurses inspired me. I enjoyed the close, caring relationship they created and the support they gave to me and to my family during that time,” she said.
Philosophy of Care
Jan takes a team approach when working with each patient. “I believe in patient education and providing patients with the best choices and treatment for their health care decisions,” she said. “Patient advocacy is also important and I believe in empowering each patient to participate in the guided care I recommend.”
Open communication is key to quality patient care, according to Jan “I am there to facilitate the health care of each patient by working closely with them and the physicians,” she said. “I enjoy getting to know my patients and building caring relationships.”
Jan lives in a small town west of Alma with her husband Bill. They have four children and nine grandchildren. “I most enjoy spending time with my family,” said Jan, who also enjoys reading, gardening and taking care of her dogs.
