Trans Cranial Imaging (TCI)

This is a safe and painless procedure that uses a transducer (a small, microphone-type device) to send high frequency sound waves to the arteries in the brain. Using a method called Color Flow Doppler, these sound waves can be translated to a color image on a screen. A Doppler Echo may also be performed. This allows doctors to evaluate blood flow through the arteries to the brain. The technologist will videotape parts of the study for later diagnosis by the interpreting physician.
