    Welcome to MidMichigan Medical Center - Gratiot. Having a baby is an exciting time, and we look forward to helping make this a memorable and happy experience.

  • Entering the Maternity Unit

    MidMichigan Medical Center - Gratiot; Outpatient Entrance
    When it is time to deliver your baby, you should enter the Medical Center through the outpatient entrance. If you arrive at the medical center after hours please enter through the emergency department.
  • Registration

    Once inside the building you should proceed to the outpatient registration area. After you have completed the necessary paperwork, the staff will escort you to the obstetrics unit.There you will be greeted by the staff and taken to an exam room.

  • Labor, Delivery and Recovery

    If your labor is progressing, you will be taken to a private labor, delivery and recovery (LDR) room. This room is designed to make you as comfortable as possible and has all the equipment and lighting needed for your baby’s birth.

  • Operating Room

    Although most births are uncomplicated and go as planned, some may require special support. The staff at MidMichigan Medical Center - Gratiot is prepared to handle emergency situations.
  • Personalized Attention

    Mom and Baby

    After your newborn is delivered, the baby is washed, examined and dressed at your bedside, and if you choose, will remain in your room until you go home. Our mother-baby care philosophy means that same nurses will care for both you and your baby. Your nurses will do everything possible to answer your questions and make you feel at home. Our patients rave about the personalized attention and high quality care they receive.

  • Private Rooms

    Following your initial recovery period, you’ll be transferred to a private, patient room for the remainder of your stay. Each room has a private bathroom and shower area and they are large enough for you, your baby and your support person to stay together.

    Visitors also may want to stop at the Gift Boutique located in the patient tower lobby, to pick up flowers, cards or baby gifts.
