Inpatient Care

Virtual Tour: Inpatient Mental Health at MidMichigan Medical Center - Midland

  • Welcome

Welcome to the inpatient mental health unit at MidMichigan Medical Center - Midland. We offer a safe, confidential environment in an attractive, home-like setting for people who need 24-hour psychiatric care.

  • Admission

When you are admitted, you will have a mental health screening with a psychiatrist, who will explain the program options available to you. During this time, you are encouraged to share any thoughts about your mental and physical health. The Medical Center’s program is based on both one-on-one and group therapy, as well as medication management.

  • Visitors

The comfortable environment is designed to promote daily social interaction and growth of self-reliance, important aspects of the recovery process. You will be encouraged to socialize and have visitors. Visitors are welcomed during visiting hours. Even if you feel unable to have a conversation, simply enjoying a person’s company is important.

  • Nature

A beautiful, secure outside courtyard enables you to spend time in a natural setting. Treatment in the program will encourage you to resume normal activites of a typical day, including daily hygiene routines, wearing comfortable clothing and enjoying activities of your choice. There is also an activity room with exercise and leisure equipment.

  • Recreation

As you recover, recreation can help you regain a sense of fun and start to once again enjoy what life has to offer. Leisure activities help build social interaction skills and self-reliance. Physical activity helps, too, and is strongly encouraged.

  • Therapy

Group and individual therapy will be essential parts of your day. Not only do they help you understand your illness, but they also provide you techniques to manage your illness now and in the future.

  • Respect

You will always be treated with dignity and respect by a caring, professional staff who are there to support you throughout your treatment, 24 hours a day.
