Palliative care is the management of pain and other symptoms related to disease. MidMichigan Health offerrs palliative care to patients with chronic diseases and patients experiencing uncontrolled symptoms or treatment side effects that impact physical and emotional well being. The goal is to improve the quality life for patients and their families by:

  • Reducing pain and symptoms
  • Addressing emotional, spiritual and psychological needs
  • Reducing costs associated with excessive pharmaceuticals and medical care

Patients who are nearing the end of life are also candidates to receive palliative care through hospice.
