Support Groups

Women's Grief and Loss Support Group - Midland

"Few events can affect a woman so profoundly and change every part of her life as drastically as the death of her husband, partner or significant other (Care Notes, Abbey Press)." MidMichigan Home Care offers a support group specifically focusing on the unique aspects of grieving as a woman and is designed to address those needs.

This support group teaches about defining grief, common and normalcy of grief reactions, caring for ourselves while grieving and recognizing progress in processing grief. There is opportunity to share losses and memories while discussing opportunities for healing. The program is facilitated by a Bereavement Coordinator or Medical Social Worker.

This group has a more social atmosphere. Newly bereaved adults are welcome, but should be aware of the nature of this group. Women are welcome to join at any time.

The group is ongoing, and individuals are encouraged to come as often as they need, for as long as they need.

This group is designed for drop-ins.
