Step Up Amputee Training Clinic - Midland
In partnership with Bremer Prosthetics, MidMichigan Medical Center - Midland offers the Step Up Amputee Training Clinic. This monthly clinic is free and open to all lower extremity amputees interested in learning techniques for increasing functional prosthetic control. All age groups and activity levels are invited and encouraged to attend.
Led by Scott Baranek, B.O.C.P., C.P., a 20-year amputee and certified prosthetist, attendees will learn various exercises and training methods designed to help amputees reach their maximum functional abilities while living life with a prosthetic limb. Peer mentoring takes place as amputees participate together. In addition, MidMichigan rehabilitation therapist Kyle Stevenson, D.P.T. will be on hand to assist with the training and exercise program.
Those who are upper extremity amputees are still welcome to attend, though the clinic will focus on the legs and lower body. These patients may be best advised to contact Bremer Prosthetics at www.bremerprosthetics.com or call (989) 249-9400.
