Newborn Parenting Support Group - West Branch

Whether someone is a first-time parent or a seasoned expert, caring for a newborn can be overwhelming. To help parents through the transition, MidMichigan Medical Center - West Branch offers the Newborn Parenting Support Group for Moms AND Dads.

Led by experienced childbirth educators, the Newborn Parenting Support Group covers a new topic each week. Discussions focus on the special needs of group members as they adjust to their baby and new role as parents.

Topics include infant nutrition, breastfeeding tips, mental and physical adjustments to new motherhood, fussy babies, sleep schedules, communicating with your baby (nonverbal communication, music, sign language), developmental milestones for the first year and postpartum exercises.

Participants are encouraged to bring their babies and join as soon as they can after birth. Registration is not required.
