This class is designed to bring birth parents and adoptive parents quickly up to speed on the essentials of caring for a new baby, help them make informed decisions and develop their natural instincts and self-confidence. Topics will include emotional adjustment, bonding, safety tips, feeding, clothing, diapering, bathing, establishing sleep patterns, troubleshooting crying, baby care items you may need and when to call the doctor. Recommended information sources and helpful phone numbers will also be provided.
Grandparents-to-be or others caring for the new baby are welcome to register for this class.
Participants should be at least 28 weeks along to participate. This class should be completed at least 30 days prior to the expected due date.
