Alternatives to Opioids

Pain medicine can be addicting and dangerous. It is the number one cause of accidental death in the United States and kills more people than motor vehicle crashes. Misuse of prescription pain killers is a large part of the problem. We’re committed to providing you pain relief that is safe and appropriate.

Please join Richard Bowen, RPh, director of the pharmacy at MidMichigan Medical Center – West Branch as he discusses:

  • Recent law changes in the State of Michigan regarding prescriptions
  • Opioid Task Force
  • Work that is being done to provide support in the Emergency Department for patients
  • Alternatives for pain relief

Richard Bowen, RPh, has more than 16 years of working as a long-term care pharmacist including consulting work, management and customer service. Rick joined the medical center as a staff pharmacist and was recently promoted to director of the pharmacy department at the Medical Center in West Branch. He makes certain that patient care remains the focus of the department. He  serves on the trauma team, is ACLS certified and remains involved with the evolution of the profession through associated groups and activities.
