Description

Survivor Series for Young Women Affected by Breast Cancer

Survivorship Series for Young Women Affected by Breast Cancer. As a young woman with breast cancer, you have unique needs and questions. MidMichigan Health has partnered with Living Beyond Breast Cancer, a national breast cancer nonprofit organization that provides trusted information and a community of support, to host a series of workshops for young women diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 50.

The Survivorship Series will provide answers and resources on some of the most common concerns for young women such as sex and intimacy, early menopause, the long-term effects of treatment and self-care after breast cancer.

 Sex and Intimacy

Changes in your sex life are common after a breast cancer diagnosis and during treatment. In this session, you will learn how to talk about these concerns with your healthcare provider and partner and get tips on how to improve your sexual health and satisfaction.

This session will be facilitated by Melissa Hoag, R.N., O.C.N., C.N.-B.N., Breast Nurse Navigator.
