Tammy Jerry - Wheeler, MI
"We’re going to be bigger when the new tower opens, but that won’t change our hospitality. A building can’t change people."
I Make the Hospital Sparkle
The most important part of my job is making sure the hospital is a clean, safe environment. We use the latest tools and the proper disinfectants – so not only does the hospital look clean, but patients don’t have to worry about germs while they’re here.
I clean each room one by one every day, but I can always call someone to help me if I get behind or get too busy. We have a wonderful team here at MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot. Working together is the only way to get the job done.
Even though I’m in Environmental Services, I don’t just clean bathrooms and mop floors. One of the reasons I like my job is because of the interaction with patients and visitors. Sometimes it’s just offering them a tissue or a glass of water. Other times, I’m there for moral support.
Patients tell me they like how they’re treated here, because it’s a smaller hospital. We’re going to be bigger when the new tower opens, but that won’t change our hospitality. A building can’t change people.
It’s people like Tammy, her caring attitude and her commitment to quality that you’ll find inside MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot - people with skills and compassion.
