Practice Details

This practice is a part of MidMichigan Physicians Group, a multispecialty group with practices throughout central Michigan.

Seeking Outpatient Internist for MidMichigan Physicians Group to work full-time in Midland, Michigan to provide care for patients including evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients in the clinic. The duties of this position are to provide primary care services for patients including the evaluation, diagnoses and monitoring of patient illnesses. Outpatient Internists may also admit patients, conduct rounds and discharge hospital patients. They also prescribe medication for sick patients, monitor their recovery and read and interpret patient charts.

The duties performed by an Outpatient Internist also include interviewing new patients, preparing new patients for treatment, preparing an outline for patient treatment and management, preparing and reviewing patient charts. Outpatient Internists may also visit, counsel and attend to patients admitted to the hospital on a daily basis, monitor the condition of such patients and recommend potential diagnoses. After patients are discharged, Outpatient Internists engage in follow-up activities with such patients, including monitoring their recovery and any developments in their condition after discharge.

Candidates must hold a valid degree in medicine, must have completed three years of medical residency in Internal Medicine, must have or be eligible for an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Michigan, and be board eligible or certified. Foreign trained medical doctors must pass the Federal Licensing Examination (FLEX) or its equivalent, United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), and demonstrate competence in oral and written English by successfully completing the English language proficiency exam given by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland, Michigan - A 328 licensed-bed hospital located on 180 acres of wooded campus offering a state-of-the-art critical care unit, with telemetry; on-site ancillary services include CT scanning, PET/CT, 1.0 T open MRI, radiation therapy, laboratory, cardiology, pharmacy, cardiac cath lab, on-site magnetic regional imaging, and gamma knife procedures. MidMichigan offers state-of-the-art diagnostic services and a well-developed medical staff in a range of specialties and subspecialties.
