Full time opportunity to practice internal medicine in mid-Michigan with a growing and dynamic, established Medical Center. Opportunity to work alongside well-respected specialists with a balance of outpatient and inpatient procedures.

Requirements

  • U.S. medical degree or foreign equivalent
  • Board eligible or board-certified
  • Completed a three-year residency or a fellowship in internal medicine
  • Must have or be eligible for an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Michigan and a Controlled Substance License

Practice

This in an offsite, outpatient practice affiliated with MidMichigan Medical Center – Clare.

Seeking Internal Medicine Physician to work for MidMichigan Physicians Group to work full-time in Harrison, Michigan (Clare County) and/or Mount Pleasant, Michigan (Isabella County) to provide primary care for patients including evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients in the clinic. Internal Medicine Physicians also prescribe medication for sick patients, monitor the patients’ illness and recovery and read and interpret patient charts.

The duties performed by an Internal Medicine Physician also include interviewing new patients, preparing new patients for treatment, preparing an outline for patient treatment and management, and preparing and reviewing patient charts. Internal Medicine Physicians engage in follow-up activities with patients discharged from the hospital, including monitoring their recovery and any developments in their condition after discharge.

Candidates must hold a valid degree in medicine, must have completed three years of medical residency in Internal Medicine, must have or be eligible for an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Michigan, and be board eligible or certified. Foreign trained medical doctors must pass the Federal Licensing Examination (FLEX) or its equivalent, and demonstrate competence in oral and written English by successfully completing the English language proficiency exam given by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

Patient and Procedure Mix

All aspects of primary care for an adult population, including evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients; preparing and reviewing patient charts; prescribing medications; performing outpatient procedures; coordinating with physicians in the hospitalist program to care for patients when hospitalized and providing appropriate follow-up after discharge. Also includes supervision of mid-level providers and responsibilities to hospice program.

Hospital Privileges

MidMichigan Medical Center – Clare - a 49-bed acute care facility accredited by the Join Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Services include medical-surgical care, obstetrics, pediatrics, intensive are, telemetry monitoring, outpatient services, emergency services, urgent care services, radiology, ultrasound, mammography, computer tomography, nuclear medicine, respiratory care, physical medicine and rehabilitation. MidMichigan Medical Center-Clare also offers specialty clinics in several areas.

Compensation

This is an employed position with a base salary and RVU component. Relocation expenses, disability, malpractice, medical and dental, paid time off, paid holidays, CME stipend.

Schedule

Traditional office hours:
Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
