Scholarships & Financial Aid

Scholarships and Tuition Assistance Ensure Future Healthcare Workers

Healthcare is rapidly approaching the largest workforce crisis in history. MidMichigan Health is addressing this concern through an innovative initiative called Grow Our Own. This initiative provides financial assistance in the form of scholarships, loans and tuition reimbursements to individuals who want to further their education for a career in health care.

Applicants who receive funding through one of the Grow Our Own programs, listed below, will be assigned a mentor. The mentor's role is to help the student adjust to the college experience, provide guidance throughout the education process, ensure requirements are being met and facilitate tutoring if needed.

Bailey Scholarship

The Bernard F. and Melissa Anne Bailey Family Fund is a student scholarship program administered by MidMichigan Health, funded through a gift from Bernard Bailey. Scholarships are given to students in health care fields on the basis of merit and established criteria as determined by an overseer committee. Bailey Fund details and application. For more information, contact the Workforce Development Specialist at (989) 839-3638.

Towsley Loan

The purpose of the W. D. Towsley Fund is to help students who are attracted to a health care field become health care professionals. Students from the Midland area who have been accepted into an accredited health care career program are eligible to apply for a loan. Loans are interest free if paid back within one year after graduation. Additional criteria are required. Towsley Fund details and application. For more information, contact the Workforce Development Specialist at (989) 839-3638.

Tuition Reimbursement

MidMichigan Health encourages their employees to pursue career development opportunities that are either directly related to their current position at MidMichigan Health. Tuition reimbursement provides financial assistance to those MidMichigan employees attending an accredited college or university in a degree program that will benefit the Medical Center. Additional criteria are required.
