Community Garden at MidMichigan Health Park - Bay

A Man and His Son Working in the Garden

The Community Garden at MidMichigan Health Park - Bay brings Bay County neighbors and residents together to create sustainable gardens while prioritizing the needs of the underserved, building community and growing food. Skilled and unskilled gardeners are welcome.

Save money, eat better and improve our community!

Community gardens increase food security by providing access to fresh, healthy foods while reinforcing ties to the environment and encouraging community members to work together.

The Community Garden is a volunteer-led program. Volunteers assist in creating plots, planting, organizing maintenance and coordinating garden activities. Gardeners will be assigned a 20x20’ plot in our garden and will be responsible for maintaining it by planting, weeding, watering, bringing garden tools, caring for plants and picking vegetables. Participation is free.

How to Participate

To apply for a garden plot, please fill out an application and waiver and return it to our facility by mail or in person. If you have questions, please contact Ashleigh Palmer at (989) 778-2888 or ashleigh.palmer@midmichigan.org.
