The Community Garden at MidMichigan Health Park - Bay brings Bay County neighbors and residents together to create sustainable gardens and grow healthy produce to enjoy or share. Skilled and unskilled gardeners are welcome.

Save money, eat better and improve our community!

Community gardens increase food security by providing access to fresh, healthy foods while reinforcing ties to the environment and encouraging community members to work together.

The Community Garden is a volunteer-led program. Gardeners will be assigned a 10'x10' or 20x20’ plot in our garden and will be responsible for maintaining it by planting, weeding, watering and harvesting vegetables and preparing the plot for the next season.

Participation is free. This is a great opportunity for families or individuals, students who need volunteer hours, service organizations or anyone who loves gardening but doesn't have a suitable place to plant.

How to Participate

To apply for a garden plot, please fill out an application and waiver and return it to our facility by mail or in person. If you have questions, please contact Ashleigh Palmer at (989) 778-2888 or ashleigh.palmer@midmichigan.org.
