Bereaved families of MidMichigan Home Care patients receive personal and regular contact during our 13-month follow-up program. Community members may also receive bereavement support, including short-term counseling and referrals to community professionals for further support.
Individual Grief Support
Support is available for adults and children by appointment in a private setting. Please note these appointments do not serve as crisis intervention and should not be called as a resource for emergent situations.

Children's Grief Camp
Camp Warm Hearts Helps Children Cope with the Loss of a Loved One
Losing a loved one can be especially confusing and devastating to a child. MidMichigan Home Care and Hospice of Helping Hands understand the challenges these children face and host an annual children’s grief camp, Camp Warm Hearts. The camp is held in the first full weekend in February each year.
The indoor winter weekend camp, open to children and teens between the ages of 5 and 15, offers an opportunity for children to meet others with similar experiences. The camp provides the children with coping mechanisms, unique ways of dealing with grief, as well as fun filled activities including sledding, arts and crafts, campfire activities and much more.
There is no cost for this camp.

Grief support groups focus on bereavement topics including the value of support during grief, why each person's grief is unique, myths of grief, stages of grief, creating a memory relationship, taking care of yourself and getting through anniversaries and holidays.
Holidays are extremely difficult for those who have experienced the death of a loved one, especially in the first year after the death. These one-session programs, offered each fall, will help the bereaved with:
- Planning for the holidays
- Creating Old and New Traditions
- Remembering Loved Ones
