MidMichigan Health Foundation recently hosted the 46th Annual Tee Off for Tolfree Golf Outing at The Nightmare Golf Course. More than 100 community supporters golfed in the morning event that raised more than $25,000 to purchase medical equipment and other items to improve patient comfort, care and services at MidMichigan Medical Center – West Branch.

The four-person, 18-hole scramble, offered beautiful weather for the 28 teams who began the day with a continental breakfast followed with 18 holes of golf, luncheon, special contests and raffles. Golfers were welcomed by bagpiper Louis Arreola. Prizes were awarded to the first-place men’s, women’s and mixed teams.

Pete Jackson, MidMichigan Medical Center – West Branch employee, received the 8th Annual Spirit of Scotty Award. The “Spirit of Scotty” Award is awarded to a deserving golfer who shares the same spirit and dedication towards humanity in their community as Peter Morton, a lifetime Medical Center Volunteer, better known as “Scotty,” because of his Scottish heritage. The winning team was led by Tom Wood of Midland, along with Dr. Shane Martin, Tony Winter and Kasey Harter.

Next year’s event is scheduled for September 15, 2022. Those interested in learning more about the MidMichigan Health Foundation may visit www.midmichigan.org/foundation.
