Local Medical Center Upgrades Mobile MRI Unit
To ensure that patients across central and northern Michigan have convenient, reliable access to MRI technology, MidMichigan Medical Center – Clare recently upgraded its mobile MRI unit with a 1.5T premium Siemens MRI scanner. This new MRI delivers an exceptional patient experience and high-quality imaging.
MRI is one of the most advanced methods of diagnostic examinations available today. It does not use X-rays or radiation. Instead, a MRI uses a magnetic field and radio waves to produce high quality images of the inside of your body. Powerful computers reassemble the MRI signal into a set of pictures that will be reviewed by a physician. MRI is commonly used to view the brain, spinal cord, bone and joints, as well as other body parts.
“MRI provides exceptional diagnostic and therapy guidance capabilities,” said Marita Hattem-Schiffman, F.A.C.H.E., C.P.M.S.M., R.Y.T., president of MidMichigan Medical Centers in Clare, Gratiot and Mt. Pleasant. “We are very excited about the new diagnostic capabilities of this upgraded system that is now available to our central and northern Michigan patients. We are also pleased to begin offering our patients convenient Saturday appointments as well.”
