These funds will be housed at the MidMichigan Health Foundation and will support the Breast Health Fund at MidMichigan Medical Center – Clare.

This Breast Health Fund supports breast cancer prevention, screening, diagnostic testing, educational services, equipment and patient care items for patients who are uninsured or underinsured. The program is offered year-round for individuals who have not had a screening mammogram in the past year.

In addition to this most recent gift to the Medical Center, the Clare volunteers have donated more than $340,000 to the Medical Center, spanning from 2012-2020. The support enables the Medical Center to purchase equipment and enhance services provided to patients in several departments.  The Diabetes Center, Emergency Room, Speech Therapy, Urgent Care, Community Education, Housekeeping and the nursing floors, to name a few.

Currently, 33 people volunteer their time to the Medical Center in Clare, participating in many notable projects, including organizing book sales, employee logo sales, and staffing the reception area for outpatient surgeries. In addition, volunteers raise funds through the Medical Center’s Gift Shop, jewelry sales, and other special projects to purchase non-budgeted items requested by departments as funds allow. All proceeds raised are donated back to the Medical Center.
