Rescheduled Virtual Freedom from Smoking Program Begins October 29
The free American Lung Association’s Freedom From Smoking® program has been rescheduled to begin Thursday, Oct. 29. Hosted by MidMichigan Health, the eight-week program will run through Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020. The weekly sessions will take place Thursdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m., via GoToMeeting™.
Designed to help smokers gain control over their behavior, each session is led by a certified American Lung Association facilitator. Attendees will be given support, encouragement and the tools to develop a plan for quitting and living a smoke-free life. Led in a group format, the program sessions help encourage attendees to work on the process and problems of quitting, individually and as part of a group.
All program materials and login information will be mailed to registrants prior to the first meeting. Participants will join the GoToMeeting from their smart phones, computer, tablet or other device with an internet connection.
Registration is required for this free program and can be completed at www.midmichigan.org/freedomfromsmoking. Those who need assistance with registration may call MidMichigan Health Line toll-free at (800) 999-3199.
