Newborns Receive Warm Embrace with Volunteer Donation
MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot staff pose with the newly purchased infant warmers provided by the Medical Center volunteers.
Newborn patients receiving care at MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot will benefit from the support given to MidMichigan Health Foundation from the Medical Center volunteers. The funds given have supported the purchase of an infant warmer for the Medical Center’s Maternity Center.
“We appreciate the dedication that our trusted volunteers have given to the Medical Center again this year, especially during these trying times,” said Anna Parker-MacDonald, manager of volunteer services, MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot. “Each year, we use the proceeds from our gift shop and popcorn sales, along with the proceeds from several other special sales, to support the purchase of equipment and to enhance patient care for the Medical Center. Our volunteers have come through again with this outstanding showing of support.”
Prior to COVID-19, Stich n Stuff volunteers gathered for a picture. In addition, the Medical Center has a unique subset of volunteers called, “Stich n Stuff.” These volunteers meet regularly and, now with the pandemic, work on their own to provide Medical Center patients with pillows and blankets and other items to help make them more comfortable during their stay.
