MidMichigan Responds to First COVID-19 Patient Death
MidMichigan Health announced today the death of a patient who was confirmed to have coronavirus (COVID-19). The elderly male with underlying medical conditions passed away on Tuesday, April 7, at MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland.
“We continue to encourage our communities to follow the Governor’s order, practice social distancing and proper hand hygiene,” said Lydia Watson, M.D., senior vice president and chief medical officer, MidMichigan Health.
MidMichigan reminds its communities that if in need of in-person medical services, please plan to arrive to MidMichigan facilities with cloth face coverings, such as a cloth mask that covers the mouth and nose, a scarf or a bandana. If you do not have one, you will be provided one. The use of the MidMichigan’s Virtual Health Clinic rather than an in-person visit is also strongly encouraged.
