Family Doctor Welcomes New Patients in Bay City

Family Medicine Physician Remnant Mwanahiba, M.D., M.P.H., is welcoming patients of all ages to MidMichigan Health Park – Bay, 3051 Kiesel Road in Bay City.

Family Medicine Physician Remnant Mwanahiba, M.D., M.P.H., has joined the team of providers at MidMichigan Health Park – Bay, located at 3051 Kiesel Road in Bay City. He is currently welcoming new patients of all ages for primary care.

Dr. Mwanahiba earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing and a Master’s Degree in Public Health, also from Michigan State University. He completed his residency training at MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland. As an associate professor of Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, he is involved in training future physicians.

“I view health care as a collaborative effort between the provider and the patient,” said Dr. Mwanahiba. “Such an approach, with a focus on evidence-based medicine, yields better outcomes. It’s rewarding to help get patients through challenging illnesses and most importantly to build positive relationships with both my patients and co-workers.”

“Family medicine emphasizes person over pathology,” he added. “The specialty also emphasizes preventative health, and this, no doubt, has played a key role in improving life expectancy.”

Dr. Mwanahiba and his wife, Irene, have two young daughters, Lucinda and Nellie. During his free time, he enjoys soccer and travel.

MidMichigan Health Park – Bay is state-of-the-art facility designed with community and provider input to be a patient-focused healing environment. The Health Park offers laboratory services, orthopedics and sports medicine, rehabilitation services, and specialists from MidMichigan Health and the University of Michigan.
