Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation Makes Donation to Comfort Care Suite
The Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation recently presented the MidMichigan Health Foundation with one of its quarterly B.E.S.T. Grants, which aim to build, enrich, strengthen and transform Michigan communities. The $25,000 donation will be used for the MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot’s Comfort Care Suite, a one-of-a-kind room that offers a restful place for family and friends to stay by their loved one’s side while the patient is nearing the end of their life in the hospital.
Attending the check presentation were Darren Thompson, member services manager, Grand Lodge of Michigan; Mike Logan, chief executive officer, Michigan Masonic Home; Howard Crumit, president, Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation Board of Trustees; Denise O’Keefe, executive director, MidMichigan Health Foundation; Walter Wheeler, executive director, Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation; Jolene Bielicki, L.M.S.W., Comfort Care Suite project coordinator; Marita Hattem-Schiffman, president, MidMichigan Medical Centers in Gratiot and Mt. Pleasant; Lisa Minns, director of nursing, MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot, and Jeff Provenzano, vice president and chief financial officer, MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot.
