Gratiot Breast Cancer Patients Benefit from Pink Out Night

Ithaca Yellowjacket Volleyball team presenting Breast Cancer patient donation to Shanna Hensler, community health specialist, MidMichigan Medical Centers in Gratiot and Mt. Pleasant.The Ithaca Yellowjacket Volleyball program donated $1,500 to the MidMichigan Health Foundation to support the Breast Health Fund at MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot. Members of the team recently presented the check to Shanna Hensler, B.S., M.S.H.A.L., community health specialist, MidMichigan Medical Centers in Gratiot and Mt. Pleasant. The entire volleyball program from grades 7 to 10 participated in this fundraiser.

The funds were raised from a Pink Out Night held with the Hemlock Huskies on Oct.17. Donations to the Breast Health Fund at MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot support cancer prevention, screening, diagnostic testing, educational services, equipment and patient care items. This includes access for eligible individuals to receive financial assistance with screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasounds, breast MRIs, breast biopsies, interpretation fees, post breast cancer surgery support materials, breast cancer genetic counseling and some transportation needs.
