Shine On Event Raises Support for Health and Wellness Programs, Scholarships

The Grand Angel Philanthropic, Physician Extraordinaire and Grand Angel Volunteer Awards were established in 2011 to recognize individuals whose genuine and profound love of humanity excel in protecting, promoting and uplifting the world through their extraordinary vision, leadership, compassion and generosity.

On December 6, 2018, to the applause of more than 95 attendees, MidMichigan Health Foundation paid tribute to the Michigan Health Endowment Fund, with the Grand Angel Philanthropic Award, recognizing their $100,000 grant made to the Go Outside! program to help address childhood obesity.

In addition, two other icons of the communities served by MidMichigan Medical Center – West Branch were also honored. The Physician Extraordinaire Award was presented to Warren E. Bontrager, M.D., physician of 36 years, while the Grand Angel Volunteer Award was received by 93 year old, Arthur and Sharon Galea for the generous outpouring of their time, talent and resources upon others.
