Patients, visitors and staff at MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot are enjoying a more garden-like outdoor environment thanks to the generosity of the volunteers at the Medical Center in Gratiot and the Howard & Ivah Hoffmeyer CharitableTrust. The new landscaping was implemented by local landscaper Green Side Up.

Patients, visitors and staff at MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot are enjoying a more garden-like outdoor environment thanks to new landscaping made possible through donations to the MidMichigan Health Foundation. Support received from the volunteers at the Medical Center in Gratiot and the Howard & Ivah Hoffmeyer Charitable Trust were used to purchase various plants and flowers to enhance and brighten the campus.

“The quality and presence of the exterior can often foretell what you can expect within. Our landscaping should project quality, safety, vitality, comfort and friendliness, and thanks to our supportive donors it now does,” said Marita Hattem-Schiffman, president, MidMichigan Medical Centers in Gratiot and Mt. Pleasant.

Hattem-Schiffman also complimented local landscaper Green Side Up who worked creatively to implement the enhancements.

“Green Side Up has been keeping our campus beautiful since 2000,” added Hattem-Schiffman. “We are grateful for their innovative efforts to create this new beautiful landscape that achieved our goals in a cost-effective manner.”
