Patients Benefit from Sporting Clay Shoot

The Annual Support Committee of the MidMichigan Health Foundation’s Development Council serving Alpena recently hosted the fourth annual Clays for a Cause sporting clay shoot at the Alpena Sportsmen’s Club.

This year, 11 teams participated with six local businesses sponsoring the event. More than $6,500 was raised and will be used at the Medical Center in Alpena to help fund vital patient enhancements that will provide advanced technology and more comfortable surroundings for patients and their families.

Development Council members, along with MidMichigan employees and health care providers joined in the fun by participating in the 14 rounds. Participants included: Chuck Sherwin, president, MidMichigan Medical Center – Alpena; Richard Bates, M.D., regional vice president of medical affairs, MidMichigan Health; health care providers James Decker, M.D., Thomas Thornton, M.D., Ben Eggleston, M.D., and Matt Stevens, M.D., and Eric Smith, Joe Garber and Andy Lappan. Winning teams were: Meridian Industrial & Welding in first place, AAA in second place and Ynglings in third place.
