Local Dentist Named Chair of Love Light Trees in Gratiot
Sara Wassenaar, D.D.S., will chair MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot’s Love Light Trees program. Contributions to the MidMichigan Health Foundation from this event will support equipment needs and patient enhancements.
“As a native of Alma, I feel so fortunate to have lived, worked and raised my family in the wonderful community where I grew up,” said Dr. Wassenaar. “I believe the community you live in becomes stronger when you give back to it. That is why I am excited to chair this year’s Love Light Trees program, which gives so much back to the community through the funds raised.”
Dr. Wassenaar has been and remains involved in a number of organizations that have included Keep Alma Beautiful, Gratiot County Community Foundation, United Way, National Blood Clot Alliance, First Presbyterian Church of Alma and the MidMichigan Health and MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot boards. She has also been a past recipient of the prestigious Athena Award from the Gratiot Area Chamber of Commerce.
As program chair, Dr. Wassenaar will oversee the Love Light Trees ceremony where the Love Light Trees are illuminated. This year’s lighting ceremony will be Thursday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m., in the main lobby of MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot.
