Constantinos Constantinou, M.D. - New Vascular Surgeon with MidMichigan HealthConstantinos Constantinou, M.D.

Vascular Surgeon

Vascular Surgeon Constantinos Constantinou, M.D., recently joined MidMichigan Health’s advanced Vascular Surgery Program. Dr. Constantinou, along with Vascular Surgeon Enrique Criado, M.D., provide comprehensive vascular surgical care and perform both open and endovascular procedures. Their MidMichigan Physicians Group practice is located in the Towsley Building on the campus of MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland.

Dr. Constantinou completed his residency in general surgery from Geisinger Health System in Danville, Pa. and completed a fellowship in vascular surgery from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Before coming to MidMichigan, Dr. Constantinou served as an assistant professor of vascular surgery at Marshall University in the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in Huntington, W.Va. He is board certified in both vascular and general surgery.

“I went into the field of medicine because it allowed me to combine my passion for science and my love of interacting with people,” Dr. Constantinou said. “A physician meets on a daily basis with people of different needs from all walks of life and every ethnic background. He is able to apply rational scientific knowledge to address their condition and help them in a tangible way.”

Dr. Constantinou feels it is very important to establish a good rapport with the patient and their family. “I always listen to patient’s concerns,” he said. “Patients need to know and feel that they can always call the office and that the message will be relayed to the physician in a timely manner. Good provider communications also results in better patient outcomes and patient satisfaction. As a surgeon, I directly communicate and always keep the primary care and referring provider informed of any new developments in the patient’s status.”

Dr. Constantinou’s interests include carotid disease, thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysm, limb ischemia, venous disease with a special interest in non-healing venous ulcers, as well as hemodialysis access placement and maintenance.

Dr. Constantinou and his colleague Dr. Criado welcome new patients to their office located on the campus of MidMichigan Medical Center - Midland in the Towsley Building, 4201 Campus Ridge Drive, Suite 3500. Appointments may be made by calling (989) 794-5240. Those who would like more information about Dr. Constantinou may visit www.midmichigan.org/constantinou.
