Dr. Berg Announced as New President of MidMichigan Physicians Group

Paul Berg, M.D., was recently named president of MidMichigan Physicians Group. He replaces James S. Bicknell, IV, M.D., who retired in December 2017. In this role Dr. Berg will lead physicians and staff in providing high-quality, cost-effective, relationship-based care.

A lifetime resident of Midland, Dr. Berg completed his residency in Family Medicine at MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland after receiving his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Dr. Berg is board certified in Family Medicine. He furthered his education in 2017 by attending Saginaw Valley State University where he earned a master’s degree in healthcare administration and leadership. He has been employed at MidMichigan Health since 2005.

“We are pleased to have Dr. Berg accept the leadership role at MidMichigan Physicians Group,” said Lydia Watson, M.D., vice president and chief medical officer, MidMichigan Health. “He was chosen from several well-qualified candidates, and I am confident that his talents and experiences are an excellent match for the challenges and opportunities ahead of us. I look forward to working with him as the new president.”

Dr. Berg has practiced at the Family Medicine office in the Campus Ridge Building in Midland for 10 years. His philosophy of care included developing a relationship of mutual trust with his patients hoping they would leave feeling that they had been treated with the utmost level of care and excellence. Current patients of Dr. Berg will be accommodated within the practice, and will receive a letter detailing their options for a new health care provider in the near future.
