Help Others in Need While Celebrating the Holidays with Stars in the Gardens

Community members are invited to the Dow Gardens Christmas Walk, where MidMichigan Home Care will once again celebrate Stars in the Gardens. The special holiday tribute event under the auspices of the MidMichigan Health Foundation will take place Thursday, Dec. 6, through Saturday, Dec. 8, and Friday, Dec. 14, through Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. each evening.

A hillside of softly glowing luminarias resting adjacent to the Dow Gardens barn provides a peaceful opportunity to reflect and remember loved ones and friends. Those attending are welcome to park at the Dow Gardens Visitor Center, located at 1809 Eastman Avenue in Midland and walk the one-fourth mile to the barn.

A contribution of $25 or more to the MidMichigan Health Foundation enables individuals to honor family and friends, living and deceased, with a beautiful handcrafted porcelain ornament. The ornament, along with a card explaining the special program and the name of the donor, will be sent to designees. For orders placed by Friday, Nov. 30, the names of the donors and honorees will be displayed in the Dow Gardens barn each night during the walk.

Donations of any amount are also accepted for those who do not wish to purchase an ornament. The MidMichigan Health Foundation will designate proceeds from Stars in the Gardens to benefit MidMichigan Home Care, including the Woodland Hospice House and their patients.
