Groundbreaking Planned for New Medical Offices Building in Gladwin
MidMichigan Health will soon break ground on a new medical offices building in Gladwin. The 17,000 square-foot facility will be located at 1105 E. Cedar Ave., on the north side of M-61 across from Chemical Bank in Gladwin. The project is slated to be completed by summer 2018.
The new building will house primary care providers, an urgent care center, a lab drawing station, as well as diagnostic X-ray services and a primary access care clinic. The facility also will be the new office site of Family Medicine Physicians Evangeline Ancheta, M.D. and Renee Fuller, M.D. Drs. Ancheta and Fuller are currently located at 609 Quarter St., on the campus of MidMichigan Medical Center in Gladwin.
“This isn’t just a groundbreaking of a new building; it’s the beginning of a new way of delivering health care to the Gladwin community,” said Ray Stover, president, MidMichigan Medical Centers in Gladwin and Clare. “Our research, coupled by many conversations with local residents and leadership, shows our patients want greater access to medical care, more local options for health care providers and specialists, and convenient access to outpatient services. The design of this new facility will strengthen our ability to meet the needs of our patients, while enhancing their overall patient experience.”
The $5 million building was designed by Eckert Wordell of Kalamazoo, Mich. MidMichigan has contracted with Three Rivers Corporation of Midland, Mich., for the construction management of the project. More than 30 construction jobs, drawing from local and regional talent, are expected for the project.
“Our current medical offices building was built in the 1970s and its structure simply is outdated for where we need to be in the future. The location for our new facility was carefully selected because it offers us maximum flexibility and the opportunity we are looking for to expand,” said Stover. “The vision for this new building is to provide high-quality health care in a convenient location, allowing our patients to remain close to home for their medical care. The groundbreaking for this facility is the first step in making this vision a reality.”
An official groundbreaking ceremony for MidMichigan’s new medical offices building in Gladwin is planned for 4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 5, at the building site.
