Volunteers Present Donations to Medical Center

Ray Stover and Bob LaFontaineMidMichigan Medical Center–Gladwin Volunteers recently presented two donations to the Medical Center from monies raised at the annual golf outing and through The Gift Shop.

The first check of $6,100 was from proceeds obtained at the annual Doe Day golf outing, held in August and chaired by Gary and Pat Allen. These funds will be deposited into a scholarship account and made available to women in Gladwin County who are not able to afford mammograms.

The second donation of $3,996 was made to support the purchase of two vital-sign monitors for the medical surgical floor of the Medical Center. The easy-to-use monitors provide hospital-grade technology that accurately captures non-invasive blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature and oxygen saturation levels within approximately 10 seconds. The monitors also input this information into electronic medical records. This money was raised through various events, such as book, uniform and candy sales held at the gift shop.

Volunteer opportunities are available at MidMichigan Medical Center–Gladwin. Immediate needs include the ambassador service, gift shop and reception areas. Other opportunities are available in fund raising and promoting goodwill within in the community.
