Freeland Falcons Football Team Donates $10,000 to MidMichigan’s Cancer Fund

Freeland High School

During a recent school assembly, Kevin Townsend, head varsity football coach from Freeland High School, along with his team and members of the cheerleading and pom teams, presented a $10,000 donation to Greg Rogers, president of MidMichigan Medical Center–Midland, and Joan Herbert, Pharm.D., director of oncology services. The donation was placed in MidMichigan’s Cancer Fund, which provides funds for new cancer treatment and diagnostic technology and support for patients in need. These proceeds were raised from the fourth annual Clash for a Cure football game against Alma High School held in September 2013. In addition to ticket sales, sponsorships, entertainment activities, and sales of pink t-shirts supplemented funds raised.
