Blood Drives: Volunteers help with blood drives in several areas, schedule appointments and assist the American Red Cross with registration and canteen services. We sponsor four blood drives a year.
Lobby Greeter: Lobby Greeters are recognized as the first point of contact for many customers of the Medical Center. They welcome customers to our facility and offer wheelchair assistance and/or escort services.
Information Services: Located in the main lobby of the hospital, these volunteers provide room numbers to patient visitors, directions to departments throughout the hospital & deliver mail to patient rooms.
The Gift Corner: The Gift Corner is primarily operated by volunteers. The shop is open seven days a week and utilizes volunteers with an aptitude in retail sales. All proceeds from the Gift Corner are donated to the Medical Center.
Surgical Lounge: Volunteers in this service provide comfort to family and friends of patients who are in surgery. Services include providing coffee, giving directions and when possible, finding the correct staff member to answer questions.
Surgical Escort & Aide: These volunteers transport surgical patients, in a wheelchair, to the front door for discharge.
Emergency Department Escort: Volunteers welcome customers to the Emergency Department and are flexible in assuming differing non-clinical roles as needed to provide optimum service. They direct patients & families to emergency care & help staff as requested.
Courtesy Van Transport: Volunteers provide transport service to anyone from the hospital parking area to and from the building entrance via a minivan.
Handcrafts: Knitted and crocheted caps and booties for newborns, handmade infant IV gowns, comfort pillows, dolls, puppets, toe-cast covers, lap robes, and afghans are just some of the items our volunteers make in their homes for the comfort of our patients.
If you are interested in becoming a member of our team, please apply for a volunteer opportunity. We'll work with you to find a volunteer service that fits both your interest and schedule.
