Volunteer Opportunities at MidMichigan Health
Volunteers are a valuable asset to MidMichigan Health. The presence and the assistance they provide enhances the quality of care we offer our patients and families. There are a variety of areas where volunteers can serve, and we are always seeking new areas of assistance. If you have a desire to help, we have a place for you.
We're proud of our more than 600 volunteers and the services they provide. If you decide to join us, you'll be a valued member of our health care team.

Volunteer Programs
There are several volunteer programs available, as well as numerous areas to volunteer at our Medical Centers.
- General Volunteers - Any adult interested in giving back to their community can volunteer. There are a variety of areas in which to serve.
- College Student Volunteers - The college student program provides students the opportunity for volunteers experiences in a medical center setting.
- Teen Volunteers - The teen student program provides students the opportunity for volunteers experiences in a medical center setting.
Program Requirements
- General Volunteers
- Must be over the age of 18 and a high school graduate
- Willing to commit to a minimum of 6 months
- Complete the General Volunteer application
- After your application is received you will be contacted about scheduling an interview, background check, TB testing, and orientation.
- College Student Volunteers
- Must be enrolled in college
- Hours required - One-two to four hour shift per week for at duration of the session.
- Sessions may vary by location
- Must be willing to commit to session requirements regarding program duration and frequency
- Complete the General Volunteer application
- After your application is received you will be contacted about scheduling an interview, background check, TB testing, and orientation.
- Teen Volunteers
- Must be over the age of 14 and a current high school student and willing to commit session requirements.
- Requirements may vary by location
- Parental consent is required
- Complete the Teen Volunteer application
- After your application is received you will be contacted about scheduling an interview, background check, TB testing, and orientation.
Volunteer Opportunities
Our medical center campus volunteer positions have some similarities at each site. Some of those include the use of volunteers for the following services:
- Gift Shops: each of our medical centers has a gift shop which is wholly staffed and run by volunteers.
- Reception Services: at all our medical centers volunteers are involved with the greeting, assistance and guidance of our patients and visitors
- Patient Services: each medical center utilizes volunteers to enhance the patient experience in various areas.
